B ut it was in the late 1990s when Newland Communities purchased 3,000 acres to develop Fishhawk Ranch, that Lithia began to evolve as home to thousands of Floridians. From its tree lined roads to the 25+ miles of walking trails, the community caters to every age group. Homeowners can take advantage of the several pools, tennis, basketball, fitness center and even skateboarding. The Town Center offers small shops, a kids splash pool and concerts. A new sports complex has also been added. Churches, shops, banks and restaurants continue to spring up in the immediate area.
